Dear Parent/Guardian:
The State Education Department permits an honors designation to be awarded to students earning a Regents Diploma and/or a Regents Diploma with advanced designation.
Students, who earn a Regents diploma and achieve an average of 90 percent in the required Regents examinations, or their equivalent, will be eligible for a Regents diploma with honors.
Students, who earn a Regents diploma with advanced designation and achieve an average of 90 percent in the required Regents examinations, or their equivalent, will be eligible for a Regents diploma with advanced designation with honors.
It is the policy of the Three Village Central School District to include on the transcript the highest Regents score in a given examination, therefore students are provided with an opportunity to retake Regents examinations. Although, the District does not re-calculate a final grade for the course, the highest Regents scores will be recorded on the transcript.
This additional honor will be denoted on a student’s diploma issued upon graduation from high school.
Should you have any questions regarding the honors diploma designation we encourage you to contact your child’s guidance counselor.
Sincerely,
Vincent Vizzo
Principal
